A change in sludge structure with low energy input can be achieved using the VTA mudinator®.
Ultrasound treatment using the VTA mudinator® can change the structure of the sludge thereby improving the effect of the polymer.
The more effective charge balancing with the polymer produces more stable floc that is able to release water faster and consequently an optimised dewatering result is achieved.
In combination with the sludge conditioning agent VTA Biocitran®, synergy effects occur during the ultrasound treatment. The treated sludge can be dewatered much more efficiently and polymer consumption can be reduced.
Treatment with ultrasound
The sludge is treated with ultrasound just before the polymer is added.

Changing the structure of the sludge produces a better charge balance with the subsequent polymer.
The result is a shear-stable floc. Consequently: There is better dewatering.
