More than ever, the efficient utilisation of our resources is of social and economic interest. The largest electricity consumers in the municipal sector are often wastewater treatment plants - with an average share of 20 per cent, they consume more electricity than schools, hospitals, administrative buildings or other municipal facilities. There is potential for savings of up to 30 per cent in both industrial and municipal wastewater treatment plants - even in smaller plants.
