It combines innovative technologies for pollutant elimination, phosphate precipitation and bioactivation in a 3D approach that can be used both in soft water areas and in the most demanding wastewater treatment plants.
To maximise the efficiency of VTA Trioxsan®, we recommend dosing directly into the biology.
In the biological stage of a wastewater treatment plant, high-molecular, energy-rich, organic pollutants are broken down in an aerobic/anoxic environment by specially adapted, predominantly heterotrophic microorganisms or bacteria such as Azoarcus sp., Thauera sp., Bacillus halodenitrificans, Haloarcula denitrificans and Paracoccus denitrificans through various biological metabolic processes. The process is used by the bacteria to generate energy, known as cellular respiration. Oxygen is consumed in dissolved and bound form.
The additional introduction of a highly effective oxygen source using the newly developed VTA Trioxsan® process for wastewater treatment and the associated increase in oxygen availability and biological activity, particularly within the sludge floc, can achieve significant savings in terms of the additional aeration energy required in the aeration tanks.
In addition to a general improvement in purification performance, this leads to an enormous increase in energy efficiency and minimisation of the CO2 footprint of a wastewater treatment plant, thus optimising the energy and mass balance.
