TV detective Benno Berghammer - the legendary "Bulle von Tolz" - and the dosing technology specialist Eurodos have one thing in common: they keep on tinkering until every case is solved. The VTA subsidiary has now demonstrated this in Bad Tölz.

The sludge dewatering system at the sewage treatment plant in the Upper Bavarian spa town has been modernised. The polymer was to be prepared for the new screw press by a fully automatic dissolving and dosing station. This is where Eurodos was able to make full use of its expertise when it came to not only supplying standard systems, but also realising the customer's special requirements quickly and precisely.

What was required in Bad Tölz was a two-chamber pendulum system with a volume of 2 x 2000 litres, which can be operated with both liquid and dry polymer. Because the dry polymer is stored in the big bag one storey below, Eurodos integrated a pneumatic conveyor with a separate blower station into the dosing device. The dosing system was also supplemented with an electrically adjustable post-dilution station for the prepared polymer solution.

Product consumption optimised

In addition to the "hardware" in the form of the dosing station, the Eurodos parent company VTA also supplied an overall concept for the use of polymers and provides the associated polymers and system products. In this way, the best dewatering results are achieved with the lowest possible product consumption, as has been demonstrated since commissioning in autumn 2013. Ludwig Burghardt, the operations manager of the 49,000-EW plant, has been working with VTA for a long time - precipitants and other system products from VTA have been used in Bad Tölz for years.
