KOMMUNAL: With VTA Nanocarbon® against micropollutants

The invisible danger in our rivers

Anthropogenic trace substances are synthetically produced micropollutants that enter the environment via various routes. There are numerous chemicals on the market in the EU that are used as individual substances or in mixtures for various purposes. Wastewater treatment plants are the last technical barrier to prevent these substances from entering the water cycle. This requires continuous optimisation.

VTA offers innovative solutions such as VTA Nanocarbon® based on state-of-the-art nanotechnology to remove relevant micropollutants from wastewater and improve the purification performance of the wastewater treatment plant. As a result, micropollutants can be retained in the wastewater treatment plant without costly conversion measures. Numerous practical applications in wastewater treatment plants that rely on VTA have shown that VTA Nanocarbon® optimises the treatment process in many ways.

  • Removal of up to 98 per cent of anthropogenic trace substances and thus compliance with the average elimination rate of at least 80 per cent required by the EU Urban Wastewater Directive

  • Removal of up to 99 per cent of the smallest microplastic particles

  • Removal of humic acids VTA Nanocarbon® does not form any harmful transformation products

  • Savings of up to 30 per cent ventilation energy Removal of up to 93 per cent AOX

  • Reduction of up to 30 percent CO2, so that you can optimise your CO2 footprint with VTA Nanocarbon®

  • Nanocarbon® is not a dangerous good
